The From Chair to Boss Beauty School Tour
Every year, Mireya Villarreal takes the From Chair to Boss mission directly into beauty schools and trade schools — meeting students where their careers begin and helping them see how far those careers can go.
Inspiration before they ever step behind the chair.
Mireya leads the Beauty School Tour each year, traveling to beauty schools and trade schools to speak directly with students about their future in the industry.
The conversations go beyond technique. Students hear about entrepreneurship, business, opportunity, resilience and the many different paths a career in beauty can take.
They are also introduced to From Chair to Boss LIVE, giving them an opportunity to continue learning, meet industry leaders, connect with brands and become part of a larger beauty community.
Why go directly into the schools?
Because the earlier students understand that talent is only one part of building a career, the better prepared they can be for what comes next.
We want students to see possibility before fear, understand the business behind their craft and know there is an entire industry ready to support them.
“I Will Be...”
We asked beauty students to finish one simple sentence: “I will be...” Their answers are the reason this mission matters.
Every student has a vision for who they want to become. The Pink Pewter Foundation and From Chair to Boss exist to help make sure more of them have the education, mentorship, resources and opportunities to keep moving toward it.
We want students to believe there is a place for them in this industry.
Those four words represent possibility. A stylist. A barber. A nail artist. A salon owner. An educator. A brand founder. An entrepreneur. A leader. Or a career path they have not even discovered yet.
The School Tour is about helping students dream bigger while also connecting those dreams to the real-world business education and industry access they need to move forward.
Come on the road with us.
The School Tour means early mornings, packed schedules, school visits, student conversations and a lot of miles — all for the opportunity to pour into future beauty professionals.
The annual Swag Bag Pizza Party
The connection does not end when the School Tour leaves campus. Every year, students come together before From Chair to Boss LIVE to volunteer, help stuff attendee swag bags and prepare for the event.
We turn the work into a celebration with our annual pizza party — giving students another opportunity to meet one another, be part of the event behind the scenes and feel connected to the mission they are helping bring to life.
